Description
Reliable Aluminium-to-Copper Termination Performance
The CABAC Reverse Bi-Metal Lug 95mm² (RBL95-10) is designed to deliver dependable electrical termination when joining aluminium conductors to copper connection points. Unlike standard bi-metal lugs, the reverse configuration features an aluminium palm with a copper barrel, allowing the lug to suit installations where termination requirements demand this orientation.
Manufactured from 99.6% aluminium and 99.9% copper, the materials are friction welded to create a strong electrical and mechanical bond. This process forms a stable joint that resists electrolysis and maintains reliable conductivity over time. For electricians working with larger conductors, the result is a termination that supports consistent current flow and dependable performance in demanding installations.
The barrel is pre-filled with jointing compound, helping break through oxide layers on aluminium conductors during crimping and improving electrical contact at the termination point.
Built for Compliance and Long-Term Site Reliability
Electrical installations demand components that meet recognised international standards and maintain performance in varied environments. The CABAC Reverse Bi-Metal Lug is manufactured to comply with AS/NZS4325 Part 1, along with recognised standards including IEC, DIN/VDE, JIS, and BS.
The aluminium sleeve is chemically treated to reduce contact resistance and minimise corrosion, helping maintain low resistance connections over time. Combined with the friction-welded copper and aluminium construction, this design supports long-term reliability in switchboards, distribution equipment, and industrial power installations.
With an operating temperature range from –40°C to +100°C, the lug is suited to installations across a wide range of Australian environments, from commercial plant rooms to outdoor electrical infrastructure.
Designed for Fast, Trade-Friendly Installation
When working to tight project timelines, electricians need components that integrate easily with standard tools and installation practices. The CABAC RBL95-10 is designed to be crimped using standard Australian tooling and dies, reducing the need for specialised equipment on site.
Tooling compatibility with CABAC, Utilux, and Burndy systems allows contractors to use existing crimping equipment without changing setups. This helps speed up installations, maintain consistency across projects, and reduce downtime during termination work.
For contractors managing residential switchboards, commercial upgrades, or industrial installations, having reliable cable termination hardware available from a trusted electrical wholesaler helps keep projects moving without delays.
