The CABAC BI-METAL LUG 80MM² Long Palm Long Barrel (BL80LPB) is designed specifically for Covered Conductor Thick (CCT) aluminium conductors, delivering dependable terminations in demanding overhead and distribution applications. The extended barrel design allows for an additional crimping position, ensuring a secure mechanical and electrical connection where longer palms are required.
Manufactured using 99.6% pure aluminium for the sleeve and 99.9% pure copper for the palm, the lug provides excellent conductivity while accommodating aluminium conductors. The barrel is filled with jointing compound that breaks down oxide layers on aluminium strands during crimping, improving electrical contact and reducing resistance at the termination point.

Strong, Corrosion-Resistant Bi-Metal Construction
The aluminium barrel and copper palm are friction welded using an IEC-standard process, creating a robust bi-metal joint that is electrically sound and resistant to electrolysis. This ensures long-term durability even in challenging outdoor environments where aluminium-to-copper connections can otherwise degrade.
Each barrel is chemically treated to reduce contact resistance and corrosion, supporting stable performance throughout the service life of the installation. The lugâs fully annealed metal state also improves ductility and allows for proper compression during crimping without cracking or deforming.
Manufactured to Australian dimensions and compatible with standard Australian crimping tooling, the lug integrates easily into established installation practices while maintaining compliance with international standards including AS/NZS 4325 Part 1, IEC, DIN/VDE, JIS, and BS.
