Description
Reliable Termination Performance for CopperâAluminium Connections
The CABAC BI-METAL LUG 35MM2 Reverse 10mm Stud (RBL35-10) is designed to deliver dependable electrical performance when terminating dissimilar conductors in demanding installations. Unlike standard bi-metal lugs, this reverse configuration features a copper barrel and aluminium palm, making it ideal for applications where the connection point requires aluminium while maintaining excellent conductivity in the crimped conductor section.
Manufactured from 99.9% copper and 99.6% aluminium, the lug is friction welded to create a strong electrical and mechanical bond. The barrel is chemically treated to reduce contact resistance and corrosion while the pre-filled jointing compound helps break oxide layers during crimping. This ensures a consistent connection and reliable current transfer across the termination pointâcritical for maintaining system performance on commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
Designed to suit 35mm² conductors and a 10mm stud, this lug provides a secure and efficient termination that performs under demanding electrical loads.
Built for Compliance and Long-Term Reliability
Electrical contractors need components that meet recognised standards and hold up in harsh site environments. The CABAC reverse bi-metal lug range is manufactured using high-purity metals and a friction welding process compliant with IEC standards, ensuring the integrity of the aluminium-to-copper joint.
The lug is fully annealed, providing ductility during installation and reducing the risk of cracking when crimped. With an operating temperature range of –40°C to +100°C, it performs reliably across a wide range of installation conditions.
Compliance with multiple international standardsâincluding AS/NZS4325 Part 1, IEC, DIN/VDE, JIS, and BSâgives contractors confidence that the product is suitable for regulated electrical installations. This reduces risk on compliance checks and helps ensure installations meet professional and regulatory expectations.
Trade-Friendly Installation for Faster Job Completion
On-site efficiency matters. The CABAC RBL35-10 Reverse Bi-Metal Lug is designed for straightforward installation using standard Australian crimping tooling and dies. Tooling compatibility with CABAC, Utilux, and Burndy equipment makes it easy to integrate into existing toolkits without requiring specialised gear.
The chemically treated barrel and pre-loaded jointing compound simplify preparation and help create a reliable crimp connection on the first attemptâsaving time during switchboard builds, distribution installations, and maintenance work.
For electricians and contractors managing tight schedules, using reliable termination components reduces the likelihood of connection failures, rework, or site delays. That means smoother installations and faster project completion.
