Description

Reliable Bi-Metal Connection for Aluminium to Copper Terminations

The CABAC Bi-Metal Stalk Lug 25mm² (BS25/12) is designed to provide a dependable termination when connecting aluminium conductors to copper equipment or busbars. Built for 25mm² aluminium cable, the lug combines a high-purity aluminium sleeve and copper palm to ensure strong conductivity and consistent current transfer across mixed-metal installations.

The aluminium barrel is manufactured from 99.6% pure aluminium and pre-coated with jointing compound to improve conductivity and help minimise oxidation during installation. The copper palm, made from 99.95% pure copper, provides a secure and stable connection point for switchboards, distribution equipment, and electrical infrastructure.

With a friction-welded bi-metal construction, this lug ensures reliable electrical performance in demanding commercial and industrial installations.

Built for Compliance and Long-Term Performance

For professional electrical work, compliance and durability are essential. CABAC bi-metal lugs are manufactured to meet Australian dimensional standards, ensuring compatibility with standard Australian crimping tooling commonly used by licensed electricians.

The lug features a friction-welded aluminium-to-copper joint, manufactured in accordance with IEC standards, providing a strong mechanical bond and consistent electrical continuity across the two metals. The fully annealed construction also improves ductility and crimp performance, helping achieve secure terminations without damaging the conductor.

Designed for demanding environments, the lug operates across a temperature range of –40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for switchboards, distribution panels, and industrial electrical systems where reliability is critical.

Compliance with recognised international standards including AS/NZS4325 Part 1, IEC, DIN/VDE, JIS, and BS ensures installers can confidently use this lug on projects requiring certified electrical components.

Trade-Ready Design for Faster Installations

On busy job sites, efficiency matters. CABAC bi-metal stalk lugs are supplied with jointing compound already applied inside the barrel, reducing prep time and helping ensure a reliable crimp straight out of the bag.

Each lug is individually packed, keeping the connection surface clean and protected until installation. This makes them ideal for electricians working across multiple installations where consistent quality and quick access to components can help keep projects moving.

The CABAC range also offers a broad selection of sizes and configurations, allowing contractors to source the correct lug quickly without waiting on custom fabrication. For electricians managing residential switchboards, commercial fit-outs, or industrial installations, these lugs deliver the durability and reliability needed to complete the job with confidence.
