The CABAC BL240LPB Bi-Metal Lug is designed to provide a strong, reliable termination when connecting aluminium conductors to copper equipment. Built with a 99.6% aluminium sleeve and 99.9% copper palm, the lug delivers excellent conductivity while maintaining mechanical strength in demanding installations.
The long barrel design allows for an additional crimping position, delivering improved mechanical grip and electrical contact when terminating large conductors. This extra crimp capacity is particularly valuable on larger cable sizes where secure compression is essential for long-term performance.
For overhead and distribution applications, the lug is specifically suited to 240mm² conductors, providing a durable termination that helps maintain low resistance connections and efficient current flow.
Engineered for Reliability and Electrical Compliance
This lug is manufactured using a friction-welded aluminium-to-copper joint, producing a strong and electrically sound bond that prevents electrolysis between dissimilar metals. The result is a termination that maintains performance over time, even in demanding electrical environments.
To further improve connection reliability, the aluminium barrel is chemically treated to reduce contact resistance and corrosion and is pre-filled with jointing compound that breaks down oxide layers on aluminium conductors during crimping.
Manufactured to Australian dimensions and compatible with standard Australian crimp tooling, the BL240LPB integrates easily into established installation practices while supporting compliance with recognised international standards.

The long palm design allows the lug to be cropped and drilled to suit the application, giving electricians flexibility when adapting connections for switchgear, busbars, or specialised equipment layouts.
