Description
Built for Reliable Aluminium-to-Copper Connections
When transitioning from aluminium sector conductors to copper cables, reliability matters. The CABAC BLKSC240/4/150 Bi-Metal Sector Link is designed specifically for joining 4-core solid sector aluminium conductors to conventional stranded copper conductors, making it a practical solution for URD and similar installations.
The aluminium barrel features a sector-shaped internal profile with a circular external dimension, allowing the use of standard hex crimp dies instead of specialised nest-and-indent tooling. This design simplifies installation while still delivering a secure, high-integrity connection between dissimilar metals.
For electricians working with underground residential distribution cables or similar infrastructure, this link provides a dependable way to bridge aluminium and copper conductors without complicated tooling or additional adapters.
Trade-Grade Materials for Long-Term Performance
The BLKSC240/4/150 is manufactured using high-purity aluminium and copper, ensuring excellent conductivity and mechanical strength. The aluminium sleeve is produced from 99.6% pure aluminium, while the copper palm uses 99.95% pure copper, delivering strong electrical performance across both materials.
The bi-metal connection is achieved using friction welding to IEC standards, producing a robust joint that maintains electrical continuity and durability under demanding conditions. The connector is also fully annealed, including the joint, improving ductility and helping prevent cracking during crimping.
Designed to operate across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 125°C, the link is suitable for installations exposed to varying environmental conditions, helping ensure long-term reliability in both underground and above-ground applications.
Designed for Fast Installation on Site
Time on site matters. The CABAC sector link is designed to keep installation straightforward and efficient for busy electricians and contractors. Because the aluminium barrel uses a circular outer profile, it works with conventional hex dies, eliminating the need for specialised tooling.
This practical design speeds up cable termination and reduces setup time on site. For contractors managing multiple connections across residential developments, commercial infrastructure, or distribution upgrades, that means faster installs and fewer delays.
Backed by compliance with recognised international standards including AS/NZS 4325 Part 1, this connector helps electricians complete installations with confidence while meeting the expectations of inspectors, engineers, and project specifications.
