The CABAC BL185-10 Bi-Metal Lug is engineered to deliver strong, low-resistance terminations when connecting aluminium conductors to copper equipment. Designed specifically for 185mm² stranded sector and circular stranded aluminium cables, this lug combines a 99.6% aluminium barrel with a 99.9% copper palm, creating a highly conductive connection that performs reliably under load.

The friction-welded joint between the aluminium and copper components forms a robust electrical bond that resists electrolysis, helping maintain long-term conductivity. The barrel is chemically treated and pre-filled with jointing compound to break oxide layers on aluminium conductors during crimping, reducing contact resistance and improving connection integrity.

For best results, the lug should be crimped from the palm end first, forcing the compound into the conductor strands and ensuring maximum contact.
