The Portwest HRC2 Arc Flash Balaclava is designed to provide next-to-body protection for workers operating in environments where arc flash and thermal hazards may be present. With an ASTM F1959/F1959M-14e1 ATPV rating of 22 cal/cm² and an HAF of 89.7%, it forms part of a suitable arc flash PPE system when selected according to the requirements of the task and overall protective clothing configuration.

The two-layer construction provides coverage around the head and neck while maintaining a comfortable fit for extended wear. Its navy finish gives the balaclava a practical appearance suitable for professional electrical and industrial work environments.

Flame-Resistant and Antistatic Construction

Made from 400g Modaflame Knit comprising 60% modacrylic, 39% cotton and 1% carbon fibre, this balaclava combines inherent flame-resistant properties with a high cotton content for wearer comfort. The flame-resistant qualities are inherent to the fabric and are designed not to diminish through washing.

The fabric also provides protection against radiant, convective and contact heat, supporting use in applications where workers may encounter multiple thermal hazards. Antistatic properties provide an additional protective characteristic for electrical work environments where controlling electrostatic discharge is important.

The Portwest balaclava is CE-CAT III certified and tested to recognised protective clothing standards.
