Nomex IIIA Double-Layer Construction
Made from DuPont Nomex knitted fabric, the ARC-BALACLAVA2 uses a double-layer construction to provide fire-retardant protection in applications where arc flash hazards need to be considered. The material is designed for use as part of an appropriate arc flash PPE system.
The white finish provides a clean, professional appearance, while the soft fabric construction supports comfortable use throughout the working day.
Designed for Comfortable Helmet Use
The balaclava is designed to fit underneath a safety helmet, allowing workers to combine head, neck and facial-area coverage with other compatible arc flash PPE. Flat-seam stitching on the inside helps minimise irritation and pressure points when worn beneath a helmet.
Its lightweight design is well suited to electricians and maintenance professionals working in demanding environments, particularly where PPE must be worn for extended periods.
Arc Flash PPE for Electrical Work
The Sherwood FR Balaclava is calculated to provide HRC 2 protection at 12.8 cal/cm² and is designed for use in arc flash environments. For a more complete PPE setup, it can be paired with compatible arc flash face protection and a 1000V-rated electrician helmet.
