The Fantech Gamma Downflow Series CE284D is a compact centrifugal roof unit designed for commercial ducted exhaust applications. Its low-profile construction makes it a practical choice where reliable roof-mounted ventilation is required without an unnecessarily bulky installation.

Designed specifically for downflow exhaust applications, the Gamma Series uses a backward-curved centrifugal impeller to support effective air movement through ducted systems. The unit is also fitted with bird mesh as standard, helping prevent birds and vermin from entering the ducting or building.

For electrical contractors, HVAC installers and maintenance professionals, the Gamma Series combines practical installation features with dependable construction for commercial ventilation requirements.

Durable Construction and Motor Protection

The Gamma Series features a UV-stabilised plastic cowl, while steel components receive a corrosion-resistant coating for durability in roof-mounted applications. Depending on the model, backward-curved impellers are available in plastic, steel or aluminium construction.

The external rotor, squirrel cage induction motor incorporates sealed-for-life ball bearings and built-in thermal protection. The Gamma range is available with 230V single-phase or 415V three-phase, 50Hz motor options, while most three-phase models feature a two-speed star/delta configuration.

Speed control can also be achieved using electronic or auto-transformer controllers, except for model CE316.

Practical Installation and Tested Performance

The Gamma Series is designed with trade installation requirements in mind. Units can be mounted at angles of up to 30°, while optional configurations are available to suit different ventilation system requirements. Twin vertical discharge fan options can provide full standby capacity, with shutters included as standard on twin-fan units.

Airflow performance is tested to ISO5801:2007 standards, while noise testing is conducted to BS848: Part 2, 1985 standards, providing recognised testing benchmarks for commercial ventilation applications.
